Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung welcomed Amitofo Care Center founder Hui-li and 24 children from the ACC’s branch in Lesotho to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of November 25. The children performed traditional Lesothan folk songs, tunes in Mandarin and Taiwanese, and martial arts, showcasing the results of their exposure to Taiwanese education and culture. Their performances were enthusiastically applauded by African diplomats stationed in Taiwan and MOFA staff, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.
In his remarks, Minister Lin thanked Hui-li and ACC staff and volunteers for their years of selfless devotion, perseverance, and hard work to serve African communities. He added that their efforts had achieved remarkable results.
MOFA has long assisted the ACC and its Pu-Hsien Educational Foundation in promoting traditional Chinese language education in Africa. ACC programs have advanced Chinese language learning among African children, laying a solid foundation for cultural exchanges and collaboration between Taiwan and Africa. Lin concluded by wishing the ACC success in its charity performance tour in Taiwan and expressed hope that the group would enjoy a pleasant and rewarding time.
