On September 23, the Tainan Chapter of People to People International held a Mid-Autumn Festival gala for the foreign community. Guests included Chiang Zhen-wei, Director General of the Department of NGO International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Anjanette Kattil, Ambassador of the Marshall Islands; and Neil Gibson, Chief of the American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch. The relaxed event provided opportunities to make friends and network with people from other countries. The reception showcased the hospitality and diversity of Tainan and enhanced the city’s visibility and engagement on the international stage.

Speaking at the gala, PTPI Tainan Chapter President Chang Fu-chuan said the chapter had been in existence for nearly 50 years. “During difficulties in Taiwan’s diplomatic situation, members conducted numerous public diplomacy initiatives at their own expense,” said Chang. Noting that current membership stood at 170 people, he added that the chapter would further expand the impact of international people-to-people exchanges and deepen relations with the network of PTPI chapters around the world.
