The Dialogue on International Carbon Credit x Taiwan's Netzero Actions forum, jointly hosted by Love Binti and CarneuBank, brought together nongovernmental organizations to discuss concrete ways to participate in carbon credit programs and achieve sustainable transition. Virginia Echavarria, founder of Simoshi, was invited to speak at the forum. Simoshi promotes renewable cooking stoves in Uganda. Echavarria shared her experiences of implementing energy-saving programs on campuses that successfully returned carbon credits, supporting local schools in improving energy efficiency, and winning international recognition.
The forum also discussed the questions of whether charity work could be quantified and how to turn goodwill into a credible source of social capital using traceable carbon performance data. Discussion covered a range of topics from brand governance to grassroots education. The speakers agreed that the only way that charities could become true investors in the future of the planet was to promote sustainable lifestyles and mechanisms that were systematic and trustworthy.
The atmosphere at the event was full of energy and enthusiasm. Attentive participants who were keen to learn asked lots of questions and took detailed notes. During the networking period after the dialogue, the environmental activists continued to make connections and explore opportunities for future cooperation.
