A delegation from the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA) visited the United States to take part in XPONENTIAL 2025 from May 20 to 22 .
XPONENTIAL is the most important and influential international exhibition for unmanned vehicles. This year, the landmark event had a Taiwan pavilion. Officials from Taiwan’s foreign and economic ministries took part to showcase the country’s thriving and competitive drone industry.
The highlight of the exhibition was the signing of an industry cooperation memorandum of understanding between TEDIBOA and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the largest organization of its kind in the world. AUVSI has members in more than 60 countries worldwide, including over 600 corporations. It offers a platform for members to conduct technical exchanges and cooperation. American Institute in Taiwan Director Raymond Greene, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston Director General Yvonne Hsiao, MOFA’s Department of NGO International Affairs Director General Chiang Zhen-wei, and other officials witnessed the signing between Hu Kai-hung and Michael Robbins, the presidents of each organization. After the ceremony, the AUVSI team visited the Taiwan pavilion. Exchanges between participants opened promising opportunities for cooperation.
Speaking at the event, Greene said there was strong collaboration between Taiwan and the United States on semiconductors, AI, drones, and other advanced manufacturing sectors. He added that close industrial exchanges and highly complementary trade would bring economic benefits to both sides. Hu stressed that making this link with the United States provided an excellent opportunity for technological integration. Domestically, it would help Taiwan accelerate the combat capacity of Taiwan’s drones; and internationally, it would connect alliance members to the supply chains of overseas manufacturers.
