On February 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung took part in the International Peace Forum organized by Rotary District 3482. He gave a speech on the topic of “Trump 2.0 and Taiwan’s Foreign Policy.” Lin outlined the policy continuation of the Trump administration. With the international community facing the challenge posed by China, Lin stressed that democracies around the world were coordinating and responding in the fields of security, economics, and digital technology.

The foreign minister said Taiwan’s foreign policy was currently centered on integrated diplomacy, both in dealing with the United States and connecting with the world. He explained that under the framework of President Lai Ching-te’s policy of values-based diplomacy, Taiwan was building democratic supply chains with like-minded nations. Through alliance diplomacy, Taiwan was engaging in bilateral and multilateral cooperation to strengthen peace and security in the Indo-Pacific and the first island chain. And through economics and trade diplomacy, Taiwan was exporting its leading industries all over the world through a collaborative international team. This would achieve the ambitious vision of making Taiwan a global economy, Lin said.
