The Young Women's Christian Association of Taiwan has a long history of active participation in international meetings on women's and gender equality. The YWCA works to strengthen communications and links with international nongovernmental organizations and build lasting friendships with representatives from all over the world. Through visits and exchanges, the YWCA enhances awareness and understanding about women’s rights in Taiwan among leaders of the international women's movement. The association promotes the concept of gender equality as a long-term social commitment.
On December 3, 2024 , a delegation of eight representatives from South Korean NGOs visited the YWCA's Taipei City Zhongzheng Women's Support and Empowerment Center and its West Taipei New Immigrants' Community Care Point. The tour helped the group gain an in-depth understanding of the service system, venues, and facilities for women and new immigrants in Taipei. In addition to their fact-finding mission, the visitors also engaged in an exchange of opinions with their hosts.
During the meeting, the two sides held an animated discussion on such issues as gender equality promotion, civic awareness, NGO operations and roles, and corporate social responsibility. The exchange effectively demonstrated the joint efforts made by both countries in women's rights, gender equality, and other areas. The enthusiasm and engagement shown by the participants established firm foundations for future cooperation and pointed to expanded collaboration to promote gender equality around the world.
