Application procedure:
Step 1:Where a foundation established by a foreign entity seeks recognition from the Ministry of Culture (MOC), it must meet the conditions stipulated in the Foundations Act and adhere to MOC regulations.
Step 2:Submit the following documents to obtain recognition from the MOC:
- 1. An application form, wherein the foundation’s name must be translated into Chinese and its nationality specified
- 2. Certificate of establishment issued by the competent authority in the home country that evidences its qualification as a foundation (*)
- 3. Charter of endowment (*)
- 4. Identification document of directors or the representative in the Republic of China (Taiwan) (*)
- 5. The principal office address in the Republic of China (Taiwan)
- 6. Plan concerning combating money laundering and financing of terrorism if the INGO has a branch office in a country or area at high risk for money laundering or financing of terrorism
- 7. Report of activities for the most recent two years
- 8. Financial report for the most recent two years
- 9. List of property (including supporting documents)
- 10. All documentation set out in the preceding subparagraphs must be translated into Chinese if the original is in another language.
(*)Documents in other languages and their Chinese translations set out in Subparagraphs 2 to 4 must be authenticated by the relevant R.O.C. overseas mission.
Notes:
- 1. Applications for recognition filed with the MOC and supporting documents must be processed in accordance with MOC regulations.
