As civil associations and foundations differ in nature, the procedures for them to register as legal entities vary, as follows:
- 1. Civil associations:A civil association that has been approved by and registered with a competent authority must register with the relevant court to obtain a registration certificate, which must be submitted to the competent authority within 30 days of issuance to complete the process.
- 2. Foundations:The directors of a foundation must apply for registration at the relevant court(s) governing the location of the main office and any branch office within 15 days of receiving the approval documents from the competent authorities. They must also submit a photocopy of the registration certificate(s) from the relevant court(s) to the competent authorities within 15 days of issuance to complete the process.
Notes:
- 1. Offices are not regarded as legal entities and, therefore, not required to register as a legal entity.
- 2. Relevant regulations:Civil Associations Act (national-level civil associations) and Foundations Act (national-level foundations)
