During the seminar, from the perspective of thoracic medicine, Dr. Huang shared the clinical experience of respiratory care in the hospital, like the way of testing and evaluating by using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Polysomnography (PSG), and Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI), then treat with positive airway pressure to improve patient’s sleeping experience. Dr. Chang shared the application of biofeedback devices in the non-drug intervention treatment of insomnia. She noted that although the data from the Taiwan Society of Sleep Medicine shows that 10% to 20% of people in Taiwan have chronic insomnia, they do not need to rely on sleeping pills. To improve the possibility of insomnia, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the best way to treat insomnia other than drugs, and there are also many empirical studies and outcome at home and abroad for this treatment method, so Cognitive Behavioural Therapy combined with biofeedback therapy can be another solution to improve the patient's insomnia problem.

After the presentation, the invited medical manufacturers conducted the static/dynamic exhibitions, as knowledge and practices sharing, device testing. This event attracted nearly 100 medical staff, from different departments of the hospital to join and interact with each other.
