Nearly 100 Taoyuan City Government employees attended the first activity under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s 2024 Global Learning program to be organized with the municipality. The event fully demonstrated Taoyuan’s commitment to actively participating in international exchanges. The training helped raise the professional capacity of local government employees to deal with international affairs and deepened cooperation between the city and MOFA.
Andy Kang-i Chen, Director General of MOFA’s Department of NGO International Affairs, led the session by sharing his wealth of experience in taking part in international meetings. The practical content gave the Taoyuan City Government employees a deeper understanding of diplomatic issues and raised their interest in international affairs.
To further build support among the people of Taiwan for the government’s diplomatic efforts, MOFA will continue to work with local governments. It will also go into university, college, and high and technical high school campuses and build partnerships with NGOs and businesses. By expanding access to the Global Learning program and exploring new topics, MOFA hopes to inspire Taiwanese people to develop a passion for international affairs.
